The Diocese of Washington State and the Pacific Northwest is the corporate name required under secular law. More familiarly, the diocese is known as the Diocese of the Holy Trinity. It is a part of an international denomination, the Communion of Anglican Churches. 

In the Anglican tradition it recognizes that all baptized Christians are members of the One, Holy, Apostolic, Catholic Church and that differences in liturgy, church polity, and ecclesial emphasis reflect the needs of specific communities of faith and are, therefore, different from the essentials of that faith which are the historic Creeds, and the  Scripture as the basis of theological and moral understanding of that faith.
